When destiny knocks, do you invite it in?
When a spell book lands on Ariana’s doorstep, her world is thrown into turmoil. That’s nothing new for her, except this time it involves bizarre and terrifying creatures who attempt to kill her. Then there’s the little fact that she now has the ability to perform magic.
Hadeon is another new addition in her life. He happened to drop in at the same time the spell book appeared. He’s dark, sexy, and alpha as hell, and Ariana doesn’t know if she wants to kill him or love him.
But all this chaos is nothing compared to what destiny has in store for her. A future is promised of royalty and immense power, palaces and undying love. But hers is a destiny that is not easily won. She will have to fight to the death against those who want to take it all for themselves. And when the real battle begins, just who the true enemy is will surprise everyone.
Content Warning: contains explicit language, sex scenes, and some violence.
Hadeon sits beside Ariana on the bed. She’s mesmerized as he stares into her eyes. He takes a ribbon of her wet hair between his thumb and forefinger and slides down the length of it until his hand falls away. Saying nothing, his fingers float to her face and flutter down her cheek. Her need throbs as his thumb rubs along her bottom lip. Ariana’s breaths grow heavy. This simple gesture of affection makes her body warm and melt like ice in a fire. “I’m sorry,” he says, his voice hoarse and gentle. “Why? I’m the one who went out searching for trouble.” His face nears; he slants his mouth over Ariana’s and slides his tongue between her lips. She sighs, both pleasure and angst, for she knows he will not allow this to advance any further. His hands cup her cheeks as his kiss grows deeper. Then he pulls away, and she is bereft. His forehead rests against hers, breaths heavy. “I know why you did what you did. Why you do what you always do. I understand how it feels. The lust you feel, so intense it burns a path through your skull if you don’t feed it. I know how it feels to be swept up in a moment of passion, yearning to satiate the desire that grows hot like a fire in your belly.” She backs away a fraction. Never before has someone been able to describe these emotions, sensations, and desires. “How?” she whispers, edging toward his lips with her own until they touch, warm and alive. His tongue finds hers again and she moans. His tenderness is unfurling her like a ripe bud. His lips fall to her neck, then slide up her jaw, breath and fire burning along her flesh. His hot mouth tantalizes her ear. “It’s a part of you, Ariana. It makes you who you are, and who I am.” Again she rocks away and looks into his eyes, which are now a lighter brown than they have ever been. His face is so alluring she could cry. She wants to speak great floods of words, but she can’t, trapped between bemusement, curiosity, and the most brilliant yearning she has ever experienced. Jacquie resides in rural Victoria, Australia. Hooker Heels by Ryan Ringbloom
Book Title: Hooker Heels Author: Ryan Ringbloom Genre: New Adult Release Date: 10/1/15 Hosted by: Book Enthusiast Promotions
Kenna Winston's world revolves around money, and the men who spend it. Men are mere pawns in the game that she calls life. However, her game is about to change once she's offered a business contract with some interesting caveats. Kenna has to decide whether she is ready to up the ante and play in the big leagues. Or decide if the proposal being offered is crossing the line, even for her. With her heels high and morals low, she wonders what will happen if her heart gets involved?
Oh that's right, she doesn't have one.
Zackary Knight has always had things handed to him. That's not the life he wants. Can't anyone see that he goes deep, that he's more than just a shallow dollar sign? Who is this beautiful women who just appeared on his doorstep? Is she someone he can finally open his heart up to?
Because his heart, it's a big one.
Everything about this introduction was so awkward. “Make yourself at home. Open some wine. I just need a few more minutes to finish up and set an extra place,” Zack said before disappearing into the kitchen area. “What is this?” I hissed through my teeth at Tariq. I needed some answers. I needed them now. “Why did you bring me here?” Tariq grabbed my elbow and led me into the corner, out of sight. “Do you know who that is?” I shrugged, clueless. “That is Zackary Knight, son of Corbin Knight.” Wait? What? As in hotel billionaire, Corbin Knight? Dollar signs briefly flashed before my eyes. Rows and rows of them. But I was lost. “What does this have to do with me?” “His father has been concerned lately that his son is not getting out enough, meeting people, meeting women. He’s my boss. He asked if I could arrange to find his son a companion.” “A companion?” I shrieked. “Like as in a—” “Lower your voice,” Tariq demanded. “Is this your favor?” I strained over my shoulder to get another look at the guy in the next room. “Think of it more as an opportunity. His father is willing to pay the right person. Big bucks.” Tariq placed his hands on my shoulders and looked me in the eye. “You’re unemployed. And I’m no fool, Kenna. I know that you did not leave Backsides on your own. You need this, don’t you?” I looked away and swallowed. “It’s easy money,” Tariq said smoothly. Money. That word always changed everything. “Would I have to sleep with him?” I kept my voice even. Tariq shuffled his stance. “If that’s what he wants, yes.” So by companion, he meant prostitute. My insides twisted. “Does he know about this?” I motioned my head toward the kitchen. “No, and that’s part of the deal. Zack can never find out. You just do what you do, flirt, be beautiful and follow my lead tonight. We’ll discuss it more later.” Not many things rattled me. This did. My hands started to shake. Another pay-for-sex transaction in less than twenty-four hours. Was this the way people saw me, the way I presented myself? “Tariq, why did you call me for this?” “Because this is what you do. This is your game. Men and money.” “My game?” “Yes, Kenna, your game.” I closed my eyes. He was right. It was useless to deny it. As far back as I could remember, men and money had indeed been my game. If you considered all the things I’d done and received as “gifts” with men over the years, then you needed to call me what I was.
